In a Monday night showdown, signal-caller Brock Purdy turned in a standout outing, throwing a personal-record five touchdown passes to propel his team to a decisive forty-eight to twenty-seven triumph. The winning effort was sealed by a key 74-yard interception return for a score.

Scoring Fireworks Lead the Way

Purdy was remarkably efficient, completing 25 of his 34 attempts for 295 yards. His primary weapons featured standout tailback Christian McCaffrey, who gained 117 yards on 21 carries and additionally hauled in six passes for 29 yards and two touchdowns. Receiver George Kittle also had a big night, securing seven receptions for 115 yards and a score.

Playoff Picture Taking Shape

With this result, the winning side extended their winning streak to five consecutive games, strengthening their standing in the hunt for a high postseason berth. This victory also ended a five-game losing skid against this particular rival.

The opposing quarterback, in his second appearance after a long absence, posted a valiant effort, passing for 277 yards and two touchdowns. However, a fourth-quarter interception returned for a score ultimately decided the contest.

Contest Recap

  • First Quarter: The scoring began with a 20-yard touchdown pass from the visiting quarterback. Purdy answered with a 22-yard scoring strike to even the score.
  • Second Quarter: After a turnover on the kickoff, Purdy found McCaffrey for a two-yard touchdown. The opponents tied it up before Purdy tossed his third TD pass to take back the lead.
  • After Halftime: Purdy kept his rhythm, tossing another touchdown pass early in the second half. A fourth-quarter running touchdown by the other side temporarily made it a one-score game.
  • Closing Moments: The home side put the game away with another Purdy-to-McCaffrey touchdown connection, followed minutes later by the game-clinching interception return.

This defeat marks the fifth straight loss for the visiting squad, dimming their postseason aspirations as the regular season nears its end.
