I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly happening.
